A 15 member research team from the Japanese Association of Charitable Organisations (JACO), the GuideStar International Country Partner in Japan, recently visited the US to learn more about the nonprofit sector there. They visited a variety of organisations working to benefit the civil society sector, starting with GuideStar in an effort to help inform the legal frameworks for Public Benefit Corporations (PBCs) in Japan. Their goal is to ensure that the new regulatory system is one which encourages and supports the Japanese civil society sector. Research mission by JACO on US Civil Society Organisations.pdf
