GuideStar International Assembly: Transparency, Civil Society and Effective States in the Age of Information: 19th – 20th September 2007, London
This is the second Assembly we have hosted and will kick off with a workshop on “Transparency, Civil Society and Effective States in an Age of Information” which will comprise a keynote speech and two panel discussions.
This workshop will demonstrate the importance of robust and vibrant civil societies for positive development outcomes and good governance, examine the risks facing civil society and discuss what is needed to further enable CSOs and ensure their effectiveness.
We will also hear from our Country Partners who will present the progress they have made in establishing GuideStar systems in their countries. The Assembly is also an invaluable opportunity for us to share experiences and find solutions to some of the challenges common to all country development projects.
