GuideStar UK
GuideStar UK provides comprehensive information on 168,000 registered charities in England and Wales and is recognised nationally and internationally as the leading provider of information on UK charities.
Following a merger with GSI in September 2007, GuideStar UK’s technological and charity reporting systems has combined with GSI’s international development programme to ensure an efficient and technologically advanced information platform.
The GuideStar UK programme will strive to continuously improve the free website and ensure it remains responsive to the needs of the UK’s civil society.
To help achieve this an Advisory Council will ensure GuideStar UK’s progress in meeting the needs of the UK’s citizens and institution’s for information about civil society, promoting better charity-reporting and enabling more confident, generous and pro-active philanthropy. The Advisory Council is chaired by Stuart Etherington, CEO of NCVO with members from government, foundations and charities.
